LDS Temple Weddings
Breathtaking Collection of LDS Temple Wedding Photography.
Here is a sampling of wedding temple photography from 26 different unique temples.
LDS Temples are beautiful structures inside and out. For faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a temple is the most sacred place of worship on earth. Wedding photography is not permitted inside the temple during the ceremony, so each of the images we make at the temple are done with the bride and groom outside the temple in various locations throughout the country. Using the gorgeous temples as our backdrop always turns out beautiful results. Truly, I love to see the temples.
Salt Lake Temple Weddings
Each year couples from all over the world come to be married in the Salt Lake Temple in Utah. I have photographed more weddings at the Salt Lake Temple than probably any other single location throughout my photography career. The grounds are always so beautiful and it is one of my favorite places to photograph Utah weddings!
Redlands California LDS Temple Weddings
If you are from outside California, a wedding at Redlands LDS Temple makes for a unique and unforgettable destination wedding. Filled with beauty rivaled only by other LDS temples.
Vernal UT Temple Weddings
Just north of downtown Los Angeles, the Vertigo Event Venue has become a premier spot for all kinds of events. This includes weddings and receptions.
The Vertigo Event Venue offers unique and distinct spaces to accommodate a variety of different events. This flexibility can really ensure a unique look for your wedding. The venue provides 4 different spaces, each with its own unique charm. These spaces include
Logan Utah LDS Temple Weddings
The Logan Temple is a lovely marriage between historic charm and efficient function. The exterior retains its original architecture from its pioneer origins, while the interior was been remodeled to accommodate increased amounts of traffic. The wedding photos outside the temple are some of my favorite of all the temples. The “castle” ambiance makes brides feel like a princess. The grounds are elevated and gives a stunning view of the Logan Valley. The grounds also feature tall trees, beautiful flower beds, and a fountain for stunning photographs.
Idaho Falls LDS Temple Weddings
The Idaho Falls Idaho Temple (formerly the Idaho Falls Temple) is the tenth constructed and eighth operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Located in the city of Idaho Falls, Idaho, it was the LDS Church's first temple built in Idaho, and the first built with a modern single-spire design.
Oquirrh Mountain UT Temple Weddings
The Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple is located in South Jordan, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. South Jordan was the first city in the world to have two temples. The temple was the fourth in the Salt Lake Valley and the 13th in the state of Utah.
Laie Hawaii LDS Temple Weddings
Laie Hawaii Temple is located on the northeast shore of the Hawaiian island of Oahu. The temple sits on a small hill, a half-mile from the Pacific Ocean, in the town of Laie. The Laie Hawaii Temple was the first temple built by the LDS Church outside the contiguous United States. The temple is also the oldest to operate outside Utah, and the fifth-oldest LDS temple still in operation.
Provo City Center Temple Weddings
Provo Utah is the second city in the LDS Church to have two temples, the first being South Jordan, Utah, with the Jordan River and Oquirrh Mountain temples. The Provo City Center temple is the second temple in Utah to convert an existing tabernacle into a working temple, the first being the Vernal Utah Temple, and the fourth LDS temple converted from an existing building. (The three previous being the Vernal Utah Temple, the Copenhagen Denmark Temple, and the Manhattan New York Temple.) It is one of only two LDS temples not to include the name of the state/province or country in which the temple is located (the other being the Salt Lake Temple)
Kona Hawaii LDS Temple Weddings
The beautiful white marble Kona Hawaii temple with it’s many palm trees is a handsome landmark along Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway. It was dedicated in the year 2000 and is the 70th operating temple of the LDS faith. The temple is located on the Big Island and serves Latter-day Saints on the big island of Hawaii as well as Maui, Molokai and Lanai.
Bountiful LDS Temple Weddings
Nestled up right next to the mountains, the Bountiful Utah Temple is one location that we have become very familiar with over the years. It’s beautiful columns offer a wonderful graphic element to the images that we make at the Bountiful temple. Lighting is generally gorgeous as there are no obstructions to block the sunset and the views are jaw dropping gorgeous.
Manti UT Temple Weddings
The Manti Temple is one of Utah’s most rural temples. It’s a bit of a drive, but the history and pioneer heritage is really impressive. This is one of my favorite temples to photograph with brides and grooms. It is the fifth constructed temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was the third LDS temple built west of the Mississippi River, after the Mormon Pioneers' trek westward. The grounds are absolutely huge, as it accommodates the Manti pageant during the summer. The temple sits atop a hill and can be seen for miles giving you a great view of the rural countryside. The images at the Manti temple should be exquisite.
Jordan River UT LDS Temple Weddings
This temple is definitely underrated. It has more sealing rooms than any other LDS temple. It hosts fewer temple marriages than most other temples, so if you like a personal pampered feel, then this temple is a lovely choice. The grounds are large, and the exterior of the temple, is undeniably impressive. Recent interior renovations have made the interior of the Jordan River temple appealing to most any bride.
Mount Timpanogos UT Temple Weddings
The Mount Timpanogos features a long, circular arched portico at the front of the temple surrounded by beautiful flowerbeds and lush foliage. There are so many opportunities for picture taking on these large temple grounds. Mount Timpanogos also has the benefit of being adjacent to a really lovely park with a rustic stone amphitheater and gardens. The entire area is just beautiful for pictures.
Sacramento California LDS Temple Weddings
The Sacramento California Temple is the 123rd operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) .The temple was the seventh built by the church in California, more than any state except Utah. The Sacramento California Temple serves a membership which totals approximately 80,000 in the area.
Ogden Utah LDS Temple Weddings
This temple has both history AND style. Originally built in the late 1960’s, it was a sister temple to the Provo Utah Temple. However, in 2014 it was completely refashioned into a more up-to-date temple. The temple is located in downtown Ogden and is right next to the vintage Ogden tabernacle.
Boston LDS Temple Weddings
The Boston Massachusetts Temple is located in the Boston suburb of Belmont, Massachusetts and was dedicated in 2000. When LDS Church president Gordon B. Hinckley announced the building of small temples in April 1998, he also spoke of a goal to have 100 temples built by the end of 2000. The Boston Massachusetts Temple marked the completion of that goal.
Payson LDS Temple Weddings
The Payson temple is located on the southernmost edge of Utah's Wasatch Front, and is the 15th dedicated temple in the state. The temple became one of the largest built, at 96,630 square feet on a 15-acre lot.
Seattle Washington LDS Temple Weddings
The Seattle LDS Temple is located in Bellevue and is the main wedding venue for LDS members in the greater Seattle area. It also has very nice grounds for photography. They have a stand of trees, manicured gardens and large grassy areas on the grounds. It is also quite close to Robinswood Park and the rest of Bellevue for other portrait locations.
Draper UT LDS Temple Weddings
The Draper Utah temple overlooks the entire Salt Lake valley and is a great location for capturing Utah sunsets. Depending on the time of year and angle we can capture beautiful mountain scenery, or sunset scenery, or in this case, Grandpa’s classic car with bride and groom. (Beware though, although magical, some of the coldest weddings I’ve ever photographed were done at the Draper LDS Temple.)
Brigham City UT LDS Temple Weddings
This temple is a great choice for its historic and sentimental value. President Boyd K. Packer dedicated this temple in his home town of Brigham City. This temple is directly across the street from the historic Box Elder Stake Tabernacle, so vintage style photography is certainly on the menu . The town of Brigham City definitely offers small town charm.
Newport Beach LDS Temple Weddings
Hidden away in Malibu Valley, along the Santa Monica Mountains lies the gorgeous 55-acres of land that is the Triunfo Creek Vineyards. It’s a charming, yet humble estate that features a French country farmhouse sitting upon a beautiful green landscape, surrounded by towering eucalyptus, California Oak, and Sycamore trees.
Las Vegas LDS Temple Weddings
The Las Vegas Nevada Temple is the 43rd operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located in the Sunrise Manor CDP near Las Vegas, Nevada, the temple sits on 10.3 acres of land at the base of Frenchman Mountain
Saint George Utah LDS Temple Weddings
Completed in 1877, the Saint George temple was the church's third temple completed, but the first in Utah, following the migration west of members from Nauvoo, Illinois, following the death of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
San Diego LDS Temple Weddings
The San Diego Temple was dedicated in 1993 by Gordon B. Hinckley. The temple was built on a 7.2-acre plot, has 4 ordinance rooms and 8 sealing rooms, and has a total floor area of 72,000 square feet
Palmyra New York LDS Temple Weddings
The site for the Palmyra New York Temple is on the grounds of the original Smith Family Farm atop a wooded hill in pastoral western New York. It is in an area prominent in the early history of the Latter Day Saint movement. The temple is on the border between the towns of Manchester and Palmyra.
Cedar City LDS Temple Weddings
The architecture of the Cedar City LDS temple echoes the red rock formation seen in the surrounding hills of Southern Utah. It has reminiscent elements of the Presbyterian architecture style that the pioneers brought with them that was found prevalent in the east. (ie. the cupola bearing the angel Moroni.)
